It's time to start thinking about heartworm, flea and tick prevention!

Heartworms are blood parasites that are transmitted by mosquitos.  In the adult stage, heartworms take up residence in the heart and can cause many heart related symptoms including coughing and exercise intolerance and if left untreated can lead to death.  Heartworms can be easily tested for and prevented.  Talk to our staff about testing your dog or cat for heartworms and we will discuss which preventative is best for your pet!

Fleas and ticks are external parasites that are not only troublesome, but also can transmit disease and in extreme circumstances cause anemia and other health problems.  Fleas and ticks can also move from the pet to people.  We recommend Frontline products to keep fleas and ticks under control!
